Surrounding region

Nestled between the seaside and the neighbouring hills, just as its founder city Genoa, Bastia is a typical example of baroque architecture exhibiting superb bluish-grey slate roofs, steep streets, discreet squares and numerous churches with imposing facades.

Half an hour’s drive from our Holiday Resort brings you to the Citadel of Corte, built in 1420 by Vincent Vincentello d’Istria, Viceroy of Aragon, and which, as the cornerstone of the history of the island, now harbours the Museum of Corsica.
We are now in the Castagniccia, the highlands that rightly bear the title of “The Corsicans’ Valley”. It takes its name from the chestnut groves that to this day still stretch over thousands of acres and shelter a string of villages and hamlets with slate-coloured houses where mementos of legendary feats and heroic acts abound.
The Costa Verde , that starts at Taglio-Isolaccio and stretches down to Prunete, covers 14 boroughs and embraces 17 kilometres of beautiful white sand beaches.
Still in the heart of the Castagniccia, the Inzecca Gorge can easily be reached within half an hour's drive from our Holiday Resort .

Whether in the Corte or Venaco Regions, or even the Niolo, the real lords are here the shepherds who are privileged to walk through lands of outstanding and integral beauty.
